CK Gives Back: Joining Together to Volunteer

Late last year, CooperKatz & Company launched a new program encouraging all staff members to get involved by volunteering with meaningful organizations. Since then, members of our CK team have been traveling across the five boroughs of New York to volunteer for several outstanding organizations.

Late last year, CooperKatz & Company launched a new program encouraging all staff members to get involved by volunteering with meaningful organizations. Since then, members of our CK team have been traveling across the five boroughs of New York to volunteer for several outstanding organizations.

Here’s a brief look back at a few of our volunteer activities from the past few months:

On October 9, 2012, Dan, Abby, Jessica and Jamie teamed up with the Food Bank for New York City to help fight hunger by preparing hot meals for New Yorkers in need at the Community Kitchen in Harlem.

Jen, Julia and Kelsey worked to “green up” Stuyvesant Cove Park along the FDR Drive and the waterfront by mulching, weeding and planting this past November.

In March, Jason, Marcus, Meredith and Antonia assisted high school students with learning disabilities through a fun, interactive cooking and baking program.

CK team members, Dianne, Katy, Anne, Melissa and Matt teamed up with the Children’s Aid Society to introduce a group of 20 high school students to the field of public relations as part of the organization’s Corporate Workplace Program.

Heather, Kathleen, Dorothy, Gabriella and Danielle volunteered with a classroom of third graders at P.S. 92Q for an afternoon of cultural reading and arts and crafts.

Rachael, Lesley, Ralph and Jenni enjoyed an afternoon of culinary fun, helping middle schoolers explore new foods, learn how to make nutritious meals and improve their cooking skills, during Hudson Guild’s afterschool program.

And finally, CK team members Maria, Leslie and Dana partnered with Fedcap to help displaced, unemployed individuals prepare their resumes and hone interview skills for re-entering the job market.

The CK Wellness Team is hard at work coordinating the second round of volunteer opportunities for 2013. So keep an eye out for our updates on the team’s latest volunteer activities.
