Cheyenne Padgett

Hofstra University, Class of 2017

What do you study?

Public Relations; Dance B.A.

What is the best class you’ve ever taken, and why did you love it?

I loved taking PR Tools last spring. In the class I was taught how to use public relations related software such as Adobe Creative Suite, Hootsuite and Followerwonk. Throughout the semester we were introduced to numerous tools and then given time to experiment on our own with the software. I enjoyed it so much because of the freedom and creativity it inspired.

Why did you decide to intern in the PR industry?

I wanted to intern in the PR industry because when I graduate in May I will be looking for a job in PR. Interning is the best way to learn real, hands on experience in the field you want to work in after graduation.

What are you liking best about CooperKatz?

I love the people that work at CooperKatz. Everyone is so inviting and you can tell that they love their jobs. CooperKatz has also been so helpful in teaching me new skills and helping me learn even more about the industry.

What are your plans after graduation?

After graduation I would like to get a job at a PR agency in New York. I plan to move to the city, since I’m currently commuting from Long Island, and experience what city living has to offer.

Any fun facts about yourself that you’d like to share?

Well, I have lived in five states across the US: New Jersey, Wyoming, Colorado, New York and Florida. So you could definitely say I love to travel! I have traveled to Canada, Costa Rica and, last summer, I spent two months dancing and traveling in Italy on my own.

If you could have dinner with anyone (living or not), who would you have dinner with and why?

I wish I could name a historical or important figure to have dinner with, but at this point in time, I would simply love to just have dinner with my boyfriend. He is currently in the NAVY and working for Military Sealift Command so I don’t get to see him that often. I am looking forward to seeing him January.
