Rachael Adler was recently honored as one of PR News’ Top Women in PR. We sat down with her to discuss her life and career.
I love agency life, and the varied subject areas, industries and clients that I get to touch every day. I am passionate about many different topics, and I am lucky enough to have the opportunity to dig in, broaden my understanding and share my insights with others. Ultimately, I am inspired by my colleagues, my clients and the ability to engage others on issues that are important to me.
Helping build the agency for the past 15 years. When I joined in 2002, we had 16 employees. Now we have doubled in size, and have transformed as an agency. Over that time I have shaped our healthcare and financial services practices, while also evolving what leadership means at CooperKatz.
It’s difficult to argue that we are moving in a direction where everything is integrated and connected. Clients used to approach PR agencies just for media relations. That’s not the case anymore. The lines have blurred between earned, paid, digital and content. It’s up to us to not only change with it – but be one step ahead.
Sheryl Sandberg – for so many reasons. Her prominent role as a female leader in a male-dominated industry. How she was able to share her grief so publicly when her husband suddenly passed away. And how she had the ability to admit she was wrong when she first launched “Lean In,” by thinking that all women would be able to embrace that type of intense engagement. I love how she ties her Jewish background to her experiences, articulating how they apply to her everyday life.
Embrace your idealistic nature and never lose your passion and spark for what you believe is right.
