Greenville, SC (December 15, 1999) HomePoint Corporation, which is the leading multi-channel provider of Internet solutions for the home furnishings industry, has announced the NCAA match-up for the Nashville-based HomePoint.com Music City Bowl. This post-season college bowl game sponsored by HomePoint pits representatives of the BIG EAST against the SEC in a competition to take place in the nations capital of country music on December 29, 1999.
The Syracuse University Orangemen (Syracuse, NY) will represent the BIG EAST in a contest against the SECs University of Kentucky Wildcats (Lexington, Kentucky).
"The match-up will mean a great game for Kentucky and Syracuse fans, as well as from across the Southeast and the nation," said Mike West, president and CEO of HomePoint Corporation. "Syracuse has historically had a very solid ball club, while Kentucky has really stepped forward under Coach Mumme."
The HomePoint.com Music City Bowl will be played on Wednesday, December 29, 1999, at 3:00 p.m. CST, in the new 68,000 seat Adelphia Coliseum. The game will be broadcast live on ESPN and the CBS radio network.
Festivities taking place on the eve of the Bowl, Tuesday, December 28th, include a "Battle of the Bands" between the two teams in downtown Nashville. Following that, Opryland Entertainment will present top country music group, Sawyer Brown, in concert at the Ryman Theatre, sponsored by HomePoint.
