Always Up For a Challenge

This week, a team of 10 CK employees participated in the 2010 JPMorgan Chase Corporate Challenge in Central Park. This is the second year CK has participated in the 3.5 mile race. Though the evening was extremely humid, Team CK still had a great experience.

Having been a lifelong runner, I sometimes take for granted the fact that running is not the exercise of choice for many. This year our team consisted of a combination of both avid runners and new runners. For a few, this race was the longest some had ever run. While the whole team’s effort was very impressive, I was particularly impressed with the courage showed by the newbies. Nothing is more rewarding than seeing a new runner’s look of fear at the start of a race change to a sense of accomplishment by the end. I have gained a new sense of appreciation for working with people who can encourage each other to overcome challenges both in and out of the workplace.
Also a very special thank you to our client Polar for providing our team with dri-fit T-shirts for the run! We met a number of Polar fans among fellow Corporate Challenge runners. You can check out some of the photos we took on the Polar Facebook fan page.
