How Many PR People Does It Take to Organize 2.5k Pounds of Donated Food?

Instead of throwing ourselves a fancy party for our 20th anniversary, we shut down the office, rolled up our sleeves and organized 2,500 pounds of food.


Ask anyone why they enjoy working at CooperKatz and the most common answer you’ll receive will be “the people.” It’s true –– in addition to exciting client work and the unique opportunity to work across multiple industries –– the reason many of us have stayed at this company for years is that we love being a part of this happy, creative team.


We see our team as our biggest strength and know what an impact we can make when we work together. This is why, as we began to plan for our year-long 20th anniversary celebration we knew we had to organize a day of service that would allow us to use that great team work to give back to our city and have fun at the same time.


CooperKatz is already committed to having small groups of our staff take time out of work to volunteer together throughout the year. But on September 20th, we closed the office and brought our entire staff to Food Bank For New York City’s warehouse in the Bronx.


Together, we repacked 2,548 pounds of food, which will provide roughly 2,123 meals to people in need. Nearly one in five New Yorkers relies on Food Bank For New York City for food and other resources. The nonprofit has been the city’s major hunger-relief organization working to end hunger throughout the five boroughs for more than 30 years.
