It’s 9:00 a.m. and you already have 20 plus emails in your inbox, two meetings and a brainstorm scheduled all before lunch. While I’d argue that many PR professionals (myself included) thrive on this fast-paced, high energy atmosphere, our profession is often ranked as one of the most stressful jobs.
To alleviate work-related stress, the CooperKatz Wellness Team recently began hosting guided meditation sessions. Each month a group of employees can be found in our creative space on the floor and couch being guided through various breathing and relaxation techniques.
It’s no surprise that meditation has recently become a popular topic of conversation in the corporate world because of the countless benefits it offers. Research has linked meditation to boosts in focus and productivity, and it has been associated with reduced stress, anxiety, improved sleep and confidence.
As we round out National Employee Wellness month here on our blog, I encourage everyone to take a few minutes away from emails and meetings to relax and remember to breathe more fully and deeply. Here is a great example of a guided meditation video that will ease you into a state of relaxation.
