Melissa Connerton brings to her role at CooperKatz & Company a strong background in leading communications initiatives for business-to-business, consumer products and healthcare accounts. As a manager, client services, Ms. Connerton heads strategic planning and execution for a diverse range of clients. These include: national quick service restaurant chain, Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen; online ad network and technology provider, Collective Media; Grinnell College of Grinnell, Iowa; and the Association of National Advertisers, a leading industry trade group. During her tenure at CooperKatz, she has also managed programs for Jackson Hewitt Tax Service, wireless provider Virgin Mobile USA and the healthcare division of Tefen USA, an international management consulting firm.
Prior to joining CooperKatz, Ms. Connerton served as senior account executive at CKPR (formerly Nichol & Company), where she played a key role on the GlaxoSmithKline and MeadWestvaco account teams. Before that, Ms. Connerton worked as senior publicist for the 92nd Street Y, a century-old Manhattan institution specializing in arts and culture and community programming. During her tenure there, she cultivated local, national and international print, broadcast and online media coverage for the center’s lectures, dance performances, parenting programs and more.
Earlier in her career, Ms. Connerton worked for Middleberg & Associates, where she helped to launch the American Express Blue card and assisted with media relations and corporate positioning for financial and business-to-business clients.
Ms. Connerton holds a bachelor’s degree in English from Smith College and a master’s degree in English from Boston College.
