For the past six years, Placida Blackwood has held a variety of positions in the communications field.
At Cowles Magazine, Inc. she was responsible for writing monthly columns in Country Journal and Vegetarian Times. Ms. Blackwood was co-founder of Visions Magazine, a multicultural publication of Hartwick College, distributed to students, alumni, new recruits and residents of the neighboring communities. As a radio talk show host on "Straight Talk," a weekly, evening radio program on WRHO Oneonta, she explored controversial issues with in-studio guests and live audience call-ins.
Most recently, Ms. Blackwood was marketing coordinator for the New York Market Radio Broadcasters Association, an organization that provides resources and support to local New York market radio stations. Her responsibilities included writing columns and articles for a bi-monthly newsletter, conducting research on behalf of the association's members, and planning the quarterly "Community Leaders Day" and the annual holiday event.
At CooperKatz & Company Ms. Blackwood is the account associate on ACNielsen, Association of National Advertisers, PLC Medical Systems, MasterCard International, Telcordia, The Federal Reserve, Oxford Molecular Group and Prism Communications.
